This project is an ongoing reflection upon my semi-reluctant acceptance of parenthood. While I truly love my children and my life with them I would consider myself dishonest if I did not acknowledge the turbulent journey of parenthood and the ups and downs I have felt along the way. October 2014

*Recently I have become aware of Phil Toledano's very similar (in concept) work "The Reluctant Father." While there are certainly no new ideas under the sun, I acknowledge that he has very recently put this forth as a project and I did not mean to take anything from him by working with this subject matter. I find this process very personal and important to my own growth as well as important to the honesty regarding the difficulty of parenting so often absent in this day of performative photography on sites such as Facebook and instagram (of which I am guilty of as well.)  So, I will continue it. If you are looking for the first person to do it, keep looking...  Check out Phil's great work here.  Later October 2014
